Well done! How soon can we expect this?

If no fatal bug is found I believe we should have it introduced in a week or two. It will take quite a time to create an initial index of all Wikidot pages. This is why I had to carefully design it's shape and test it first on smaller wiki farm.

hartnell's wiki farm is about 1/100 of Wikidot, so it is quite good to test. There is still a lot of content to search through, but any (project-phase) design error resulting in a need to regenerate of the whole index costs about an hour — not a few days.

Now having most of our ideas for search implemented, it's time to index all Wikidot sites, carry out some final tests and expose the search module to users!

And I am very excited that this function will soon be implemented.

With crossing 2 millions of items indexed I experience some kind of performance problems, so we need some more work to be put in this before final introducing.

Also I hope you don't mind a little suggestion with regards to the functionality:

Can you please also make it able to automatically open the page for an exact title or exact page tag match?

Idea:

A drop down list of pages (linked page titles) that are suggested as you enter characters in the search box.
